Description	ASTS and the European Society of Transplantation (ESOT) have collaborated to provide qualified ASTS and/or ESOT Members with research funding in the field of organ transplantation. The grant is designed to support research by a resident of a European country who will carry out the proposed research in a North American institution, or a North American resident who will carry out the proposed research in a European institution. * Priority will be given to applicants who are training for surgery or have completed training and are junior faculty.
Amount	$40,000 for one year plus $5,000 for travel
Funds support	Supports salary and travel expenses. No indirects or institutional overhead will be paid.
Eligibility Please review these eligibility requirements carefully to ensure that you apply for an appropriate award.	ASTS and/or ESOT Member (Membership in both societies in encouraged) Junior faculty member or current surgical trainee Awardee may not concurrently receive any other financial support for proposed research from ASTS, AST, ACS, SUS or other society granting similar support
Submission Requirements	Online Application Form Narrative: 3 page maximum plus 1 page of graphics permitted. State the reason for applying for the award, specific objectives for the duration of the award, and how this research will enhance patient care and future plans and goals Budget: 1 page maximum Letter of support CV
Other Requirements	An abstract must be submitted for presentation at an ATC, ASTS Winter Symposium, or ESOT Congress during the award period or within 6 months of award completion A satifactory report must be sumitted within two months after completion
Other	One award available annually. * The funding of ASTS research awards is contingent upon the availability of funds and the receipt of qualified applications.
