Business Practice Committee

Current and Recent Committee Activities

1) Development of draft guidelines concerning how to ensure anonymity of the respondent and who will be given aggregate data regarding the development of a compensation survey.

2) Incorporated a regular transplant business education program to be held during regular ASTS transplant meetings.  The first Business Practice Seminar was held during the 8th Annual State of the Art Winter Symposium, Medicare 101 Workshop. Content of such programs would cover various topics relevant to most members and transplant centers and would cycle over a 2-3 yr period with updates.

3) Initiate the process to provide consultative services to ASTS members. This would involve a systematic assessment of priority needs, available resources and methodology of execution with a business model to be developed. It is expected that a prioritization scheme would be constructed to develop this service in a gradual manner to match perceived needs with available talent and required resources to be able to execute on such plans.
