Bylaws Committee

Current and Recent Committee Activities

During this past year there have been several changes to the Bylaws of the ASTS in order to successfully implement new initiatives, refine several committees and enhance the leadership. In January members voted to increase the number of councilors-at-large from six (6) to nine (9) and establishment of a new ASTS committee. The increase in ASTS councilors would provide a larger pool of candidates from which to select officers and a president-elect and represent the recent growth of the Society. Implementation of a new ASTS committee, the Business Practice Advisory Committee, will allow ASTS to assist members with understanding better, the business practices of transplantation. In addition, ASTS Council approved a proposal to convert to an online (electronic) voting mechanism for the quarterly membership ballot, bylaws changes and ad hoc council proposals.
