Dr. Cerilli
| James "Jim" Cerilli, MD, a charter member of the ASTS, served as its 7th President. Dr. Cerilli graduated with a medical degree from Johns Hopkins University in 1958 and went on to serve at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center in the early 1960’s. Dr. Cerilli went on to the Ohio State University where he founded the transplant program in 1967. He was among the first transplant surgeons to address important social issues in organ donation. |

Dr. Diethelm
| Arnold “Gil” Diethelm, MD served as the 18th President of the ASTS. He graduated from Cornell Medical College in 1958 and following a general surgery residency completed a fellowship at the Harvard Medical School. Dr. Diethelm initiated clinical transplantation activities and performed the first successful kidney transplant in the State of Alabama. |

Dr. Lee
| H.M. Lee, MD, retired in 1997 as Chairman of the Division of Vascular and Transplant Surgery at the Medical College of Virginia. Raised in North Korea, and escaping to South Korea as a young man, Dr. Lee obtained his medical degree from Seoul National University Medical School in 1949. Thereafter, he came to the United States. Dr. Lee was a charter member of the ASTS and served as its 11th President. Since retiring, Dr. Lee has earned a law degree and has continued his interest in numerous scholarly pursuits. |

Dr. Najarian
| John Najarian, MD graduated from the University of California San Francisco with a medical degree in 1952 and went on to complete his surgical residency at that institution. Dr. Najarian was an early pioneer in clinical transplantation in California. In 1967, he moved to the University of Minnesota to Chair the Department of Surgery and to further develop its transplant program. He was a founding member of the ASTS, and the 4th President of the Society. |

Dr. Pfaff
| William “Bill” Pfaff, MD graduated from Harvard University and went on to receive his medical degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. Dr. Pfaff had further training at the University of Chicago, Stanford Medical Center, and the National Institutes of Health. Dr. Pfaff, a charter member of the ASTS, did the first kidney transplant in the State of Florida. Dr. Pfaff maintains an interest in the long-term outcomes of kidney transplant recipients. |
