CME Committee

Mission Statement

The goal of the Committee is to make readily available to the membership on the ASTS website a "living textbook" of transplantation, composed of current lectures and publications as well as landmark papers, which will be updated on a continuous basis and serve as a reference library and educational resource. The Committee will be composed of members reflecting a cross-section of the Society, including expertise in clinical adult and pediatric kidney; pancreas/islet; liver; heart/lung; intestinal/multivisceral; and composite tissue transplantation, as well as basic science; organ preservation and procurement; complications of immunosuppression; xenotransplantation; organ allocation and ethical issues; and living donation. Each Committee member will be assigned one or more areas in which he or she will be responsible for identifying appropriate material to be made available on the website. The Committee will work particularly closely with the Informatics and Data Management Committee to ensure that the educational material is appropriately organized and displayed on the new ASTS website.
