University of Minnesota Medical School
Applications are now being accepted for one position for a two year advanced ASTS approved training program is multiorgan transplantation at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.  Must be board certified, eligible or equivalent in general surgery and hold or be eligible to obtain a State of Minnesota medical license.  Responsibilities include 24 months of specialty training in donor surgery and in kidney, liver and pancreas transplantation.  Successful candidates will be appointed as full-time yearly renewable non-tenure track Instructors in the Department of Surgery.  The start date available is January 2010.  The position will remain open until filled.  The University of Minnesota is an equal opportunity educator and employer.  To apply, please submit curriculum vitae and bibliography to:

Indiana University School of Medicine / Clarian Transplant Institute
The Transplant Surgery Section in the Department of Surgery at Indiana University School of Medicine is now accepting applications for a two-year ASTS accredited Multi-organ Transplant Fellowship beginning immediately. IUSM/CTI performed in 2007:  155 adult and pediatric liver transplants, 219 adult and pediatric kidney transplant, 22 adult and pediatric intestine/multivisceral transplants, and 84 pancreas/kidney pancreas transplants. The clinical fellow will be trained in liver, kidney, pancreas, intestine and multivisceral transplantation, as well as donor organ procurement, vascular access and laparoscopic living donor nephrectomy surgeries.  The fellow will learn valuable pre-transplant selection criteria, peri-operative and post-operative care in the hospital as well as the clinical settings. The fellow will participate in the education of the surgical residents and medical students on rotation.  There are also clinical research opportunities available and we encourage our fellows to publish.  The candidate must have completed an accredited surgical residency program, be board certified or eligible in general surgery, eligible for Indiana license; and have completed ECFMG if applicable.

Yale
University School of Medicine
The Section of Organ Transplantation and Immunology, Department of Surgery at Yale University is seeking a fellow for advanced training in clinical liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation and hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery.  The fellowship is a two year position.  Yale Transplant Program expects to perform 100 to 120 kidney transplants, 10-15 pancreas transplants and 50 to 60 liver transplants per year under the leadership of Dr. Sukru Emre.  Broad exposure to clinical transplantation including living donor liver transplant experience is available as part of the fellowship.  In addition, clinical research opportunities are available. 

The applicant must be board eligible or certified in general surgery and be eligible for Connecticut licensure.

Lahey Clinic
The Division of Hepatobiliary Surgery and Liver Transplantation at the Lahey Clinic is seeking a fellow for advanced training in clinical liver transplantation and hepato-biliary-pancreatic surgery.  This fellowship is a two-year position and is ASTS certified. Broad exposure to clinical transplantation including extensive living donor liver transplant experience is available as part of the fellowship. A very large volume of non-transplant hepato-biliary-pancreatic procedures is included in the fellowship.  Clinical research opportunities abound.

The applicant must be board eligible or certified in general surgery and be eligible for Massachusetts licensure. Appropriate compensation and funds are available for travel and meeting attendance.

University of Maryland Medical Center
Applications are now being accepted for a 2 year advanced ASTS approved Fellowship Program in multi-organ transplantation at the University of Maryland Medical Center beginning July 2008. Candidates for the fellowship program must have satisfactorily completed a residency, which satisfies the educational requirements for certification by the American Board of Surgery or The American Board of Urology or foreign equivalency.  Applicant must also be board certified or eligible in general surgery and hold or be eligible to obtain a Maryland State medical license.  The training program is approximately 80 percent clinically involved and 20 percent research activities.  Clinical activities will include operative experiences such as cadaver organ recovery, living donor nephrectomies, organ transplantation and urologic procedures, as well as patient evaluations and work-up, and post-transplant clinical care.  The clinical research component will include opportunities to participate in clinical trials on human subjects, retrospective research analysis and research protocol development. The Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute requests applications for the 2008 Thomas E. Starzl Postdoctoral Fellowship in Transplantation Biology at the University of Pittsburg. This fellowship has been established to train outstanding national or international M.D., Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. fellows who exhibit potential to develop into highly successful independent investigators and likely to remain in transplantation research. The purpose of this two-year fellowship is to foster the training of research fellows with the potential to develop into successful independent investigators and to foster, through training research fellows, basic or clinical transplant-related research that is of high merit. Application deadline is December 1, 2007 with a beginning start date of July 1, 2008.
