Educational Video for the Transplant Community

The American Society of Transplant Surgeons (ASTS) has created two 30 minute educational videos for potential kidney donors and recipients. The videos feature either an actual recipient or donor who shares their experience for those considering donation or transplantation as treatment for kidney disease as well as what to expect from each member of the transplant team.

These specialized videos are meant to be utilized as a first step in educating the potential donor and recipient before the initial clinic visit. Kidney transplant teams are encouraged to send candidates the video to watch with family members (and friends), before the visit so they can subsequently come to the appointment with any remaining questions.

Clinical Research Initiative

Request for Information (RFI)

The ASTS is pleased to announce a new initiative, intended to provide its members with a process to facilitate program participation in multi-center, clinical trials sponsored by the pharmaceutical industry.  The ASTS plans to operate as an intermediary between the transplant centers and the pharmaceutical industry with the purpose to facilitate these interactions.
