ASTS Committee appointments: Following recommendations from the general membership, the ASTS Nominations committee carefully considers all nominees and forms recommendations. Final appointments are made by the President and presented to the membership at the Annual Business Meeting, which convenes each year during the American Transplant Congress (ATC) or the World Transplant Congress (WTC). Subsequently, each appointment begins at the adjournment of ATC or WTC. Committee appointment letters are most often generated to respective individuals following Nominations committee final recommendations. The term of a committee member is three years with the exception of co-chairs and Nominations committee chair. The term of a co-chair is appointed annually with the option to renew for up to three years. The term of the Nominations committee chair rotates annually to the current President. (The next Call for Committee Recommendations begins late January 2011. The deadline is March 1, 2011)
