Overview
This interactive educational activity provides a comprehensive update on the care of patients with chronic liver disease. Through expert-led presentations, case-based discussions, and evidence-informed guidance, participants will enhance their management of liver disease in the ICU setting, deepen their understanding of coagulopathy in chronic liver disease, and identify appropriate scenarios for liver transplant in patients with cancer. They will also improve diagnostic approaches to liver lesions, optimize treatment strategies for hepatic encephalopathy, and understand the indications and outcomes of TIPS in cirrhotic patients.
Objectives
- Enhance the care of patients with liver disease in the ICU
- Identify coagulopathy in patients with chronic liver disease.
- Recall the scenarios in which transplant might be considered for patients with cancer.
- Identify how to work up and assess patients with liver lesions.
- Improve their management of patients with hepatic encephalopathy.
- Recognize the role of TIPS for their patients with cirrhosis.
- Discuss supplement use in our patients with chronic liver disease.
- Compare and contrast treatment options for patients with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).
