The ABMS Scholars Program is an annual one-year, part-time grant program that supports early-career physicians and researchers in their leadership development and research efforts that advance the ABMS mission and align with current research priorities.
Grants of $15,000 are awarded to support research and travel expenses associated with program participation and research deliverables. The grant may be applied to an existing research project with a new scope or an original research project.
The program provides lasting professional and personal benefit, and scholar contributions positively impact certification, quality improvement, medical education, racial equity, diagnostic excellence, and patient care.
Not only do scholars advance their research projects, but through the program, they network with and learn from:
Early-career physicians, junior faculty, fellows, and residents, as well as individuals holding master or doctorate degrees in public health, health services research, educational evaluation and statistics, and public health policy and administration, may be interested and eligible to apply to the program.
