This program is designed for healthcare professionals who provide patient care at all levels in transplantation. The course is designed for, but not limited to surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, nurses, social workers, and pharmacists.

The University of Colorado faculty and guest speakers will address controversial topics in transplantation, organ allocation, and normothermic perfusion.

Objectives: At the conclusion of this conference, participants should be able to: 

  1. Analyze and critique national performance metrics for liver and kidney transplantation
  2. Evaluate the role of normothermic regional perfusion in donation after circulatory death
  3. Identify ways of increasing donor acceptance offers for kidney and liver transplantation
  4. Examine the ethical issues and risks of xenotransplantation 
  5. Debate continuous distribution in respect to the balance of geographic equity vs harming utility.
